I believe in the power of story. I believe in telling the truth, be it raw and ugly and painful. Whether I'm writing fiction or nonfiction, my aim is to get at the truth of the story I'm trying to tell. I read everything. I listen. Story is what connects us to each other, it builds our understanding of the world and our empathy for fellow humans. That's why I believe that every story matters.
